Adam Mickiewicz University
Adam Mickiewicz University (AMU) in Poznań is one of the best academic centers and research universities in Poland. The university employs about 4,000 academics and has more than 40,000 students studying in about 80 disciplines. AMU offers education in classical astronomy and astrophysics, as well as deeper knowledge of issues related to the motion and properties of asteroids. During the 3-year bachelor's degree, students, in addition to general astronomical knowledge, acquire practical skills in astronomical observations, mainly photometric and spectroscopic. They also complete an advanced course in celestial mechanics, which deals, among other things, with determining and predicting the trajectories of celestial bodies. AMU also deals with stellar astrophysics, studying the formation of galaxies, collisions of neutron stars and black holes, and the production of gravitational waves.
